Not necessarily. Occasional consulting, teaching and memoir-writing can fit comfortably around life here. Active contracts, unresolved blood oaths and prophecies naming you specifically should be discussed with our team before you move.

Your private residence, meals, grounds and shared facilities, community activities, routine transport within the estate and an agreed level of practical and wellbeing support are included. We explain any specialist costs clearly before you make a decision.

Each resident has a private cottage arranged along one of our quiet cul-de-sacs. Homes can be adapted for access, mobility, familiar care routines and certain harmless enchantments, while remaining entirely your own space.

Furniture, books, collections, instruments and most personal equipment are welcome. Weapons must be peace-bound in shared spaces, extradimensional storage must be declared and volatile artefacts require a quiet word with Resident Services.

Auntie Brunna and her team serve fresh daily meals in The Simmering Kettle, with food available at home when needed. Dietary, cultural, medical and personal preferences are discussed before arrival and reviewed whenever they change.

The community centre hosts clubs, talks, gentle exercise, crafts, games and seasonal gatherings. The gardens, library, baths and lake paths are open for quieter days. Everything is an invitation; attendance is never taken.

Generally, yes. The grounds include paddocks and familiar-friendly gardens, with reinforced accommodation where needed. Creatures larger than a pony, able to breathe fire or legally classed as a minor deity require prior agreement.

Level paths connect the residential streets with dining, care and community spaces. Benches and sheltered stopping places are provided throughout the grounds, and staff transport is available for longer journeys or less steady days.

Dr. Vey’s team supports ordinary health, old campaign injuries, mobility, potion management, magical after-effects and curse aftercare. Care plans are personal, discreet and built around your priorities and independence.

Yes. We can store, prepare and review prescribed medicines, potions and restorative treatments, working with your existing healer or physician where appropriate. Please bring a complete list, including anything brewed at home.

Of course. Day and overnight visits can be arranged through the welcome desk, and accessible guest rooms are available with notice. Visitors are asked to respect residents’ privacy and our site-wide safety rules.

Benign personal magic is welcome. Harmful, coercive, summoning, uncontrolled transformation and other non-benign magic is prohibited or tightly controlled within The Long Rest. Our team can advise on unusual items, familiars and ongoing effects before arrival.

Commander Dane’s team maintains the gates, boundary wards, visitor arrangements and emergency planning. Staff are present day and night, and assistance can be requested from any residence or shared building.
