Retirement for seasoned adventurers

The world can wait.

A calmer way of living.

The Long Rest is a private lakeside community where former adventurers can enjoy a comfortable home, thoughtful support and good company—with nothing left to prove.

01

A place of your own

Comfortable private cottages, familiar belongings and space to live exactly as you please.

02

Everything nearby

Fresh meals, gardens, activities and welcoming shared spaces within an unhurried stroll.

03

Good company

Neighbours with stories of their own—and the good sense not to make you tell yours.

04

Thoughtful support

Wellness, practical help and peace of mind from people who take time to know you.

The adventure after adventure

A good ending is only the beginning.

Retirement is not surrender. It is knowing when the quest is over, hanging the sword above the hearth and choosing what comes next: the lake path, another slice of cake, or absolutely nothing at all.

Morning A fresh canvas, a quiet lake and nowhere else to be.

Your days, gloriously unimportant

No destiny required.

Paint by the lake. Grow something that does not bite back. Join a game where the fate of the kingdom is safely imaginary. Or do nothing at all. You have earned the practice.

Today, if you fancy it.

Activities are invitations, never obligations. Tea comes closest.

  1. Breakfast

With provision for second breakfast and heroic appetites.

  2. Gentle sword forms

Wooden blades, patient instruction and no destiny to fulfil before lunch.

  3. Uninterrupted nothing

North terrace. Blankets available. Attendance not taken.

  4. Supper and stories

Embellishment expected. Continuity errors politely ignored.
